Summer Heat
It’s a heat wave in the US and around the world!! Here in Texas our average daily temperature has been 100 to 106 so you can definitely say it’s been hot!!!!! In all this heat make sure you keep hydrated and limit your alcohol intake. If you need a drink, choose a cold beer or a glass of white wine.
Right now it’s way to hot to entertain outside and I wouldn’t recommend that you do. It is however, a good time to plan that indoor event and keep the menu light. A great summer menu would be a cheese and fruit board with a pasta salad and for desert a lemon mousse with fresh fruit.
Let’s hope that we are blessed with some cold weather in the upcoming month since hosting a fall outdoor dinner would be a great idea!
I have some great ideas to share for outdoor dining in my cookbook The Art of Entertaining. If you haven’t picked up a copy of my new cookbook make sure you head over to the store and order a copy. You’ll find the recipe for the pasta salad and a complete guide for an amazing cheese and fruit board mentioned above. Remember - keep it simple and don’t over think it! Entertaining should be fun and a way to relax and enjoy great food with friends and family. Until next time keep cool and always spice it up!
